Hi there, I’m Krystal Pennington.
I believe therapy is a place where we can slow down, be honest about what is happening beneath the surface, and begin understanding ourselves in new ways. Whether you are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, grief, or a major life transition, therapy can be a place to pause, reconnect, and begin creating what comes next.
My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing in your whole self. The parts that feel confident, the parts that feel overwhelmed, and the parts that are still trying to figure things out.

Therapy can feel real.
I do not believe therapy has to feel cold, intimidating, or like you are sitting across from someone who has all the answers. Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to better understand your experiences, your relationships, and the patterns that have shaped you. Really, you are the expert of your own life. You are the one holding the map, choosing the destination, and deciding what direction feels right. My role is to walk alongside you, help you notice the patterns along the way, and support you as you navigate the waters ahead.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and a little bit of humor into the therapy room. Life is already heavy enough so having a space where you can be real, laugh when needed, and explore difficult things with support matters.
Also, fair warning: I love metaphors (did you catch the one above?). Sometimes finding the right image or comparison helps us understand something that has felt impossible to explain.
A little about my story.
My path into therapy was shaped by my own experiences with change, transition, and rebuilding. As a military spouse, I experienced the constant adjustments that come with moving, starting over, finding community again, and learning how to adapt to new seasons of life.
Many of those experiences influenced the kind of work I wanted to do. I have always had a desire to help people, but navigating my own transitions helped me understand how powerful it can be to have support while finding your footing again. Those seasons of my life have taught me that transition is not just about changing circumstances; it is about rebuilding a sense of self, belonging, and connection.
Eventually, therapy became the career path that allowed me to combine my passion for helping others in a meaningful way. To serve people through some of life’s most challenging moments.
My clinical background.
I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and am licensed in Texas as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT): providing trauma-informed online therapy throughout Texas, supporting adults, couples, and families as they navigate trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.
My professional experience has included supporting individuals and families through trauma recovery, relationship challenges, oncology-related stress, chronic illness, life transitions, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.
Therapeutic foundation: Creating new stories.
My foundational approach is rooted in Solution Focused Narrative Therapy. This approach honors you as the expert of your own experience. Together, we explore the stories you have learned about yourself, identify strengths that may have been overlooked, and begin creating a future that aligns with who you hope to become.
While your experiences have shaped you, they do not have to define every chapter that comes next. Therapy can be a space to understand what has brought you here while also exploring what is possible moving forward.

How I show up in the therapy room.
I believe the relationship we build together is one of the most important parts of therapy. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and focused on helping you understand yourself rather than simply trying to “fix” something that feels wrong.
Healing does not mean becoming a completely different person. Often, it means reconnecting with the parts of yourself that became quieter while you were surviving, adapting, or carrying more than you were meant to hold alone.
Together, we can explore your experiences, identify patterns, build emotional awareness, and create practical tools that support the changes you want to make.

Outside the therapy room.
When I am not working with clients, you can usually find me with a book nearby. I am an avid reader who believes there is no wrong way to enjoy a good story; physical books, ebooks, and audiobooks all have a place in my world (especially when there is a great narrator involved!).
I love learning new things, although I will admit I am much more drawn to the books that make me curious than the ones that feel like a homework assignment. Growth and learning should feel meaningful, not like another item on a checklist.
Recently, I have started to create a garden space of my own. A place designed to slow down, breathe, and reconnect. It has been a beautiful reminder that growth takes patience, attention a, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected (because, as with all things, there have definitely been some gardening lessons along the way!).
Outside of work, I value time spent with my family, my spouse, my kids, and our two pups (Scout and Luna) and my cutie grandbunny (Sammie). I love moments that include laughter, connection, spontaneity, and finding joy in the everyday parts of life.
