Couples Therapy in Texas: Rebuilding Connection, Trust, and Emotional Safety

You love each other. That is often why this feels so hard.

Maybe you keep having the same arguments that never seem to resolve. Maybe you feel like roommates instead of partners. Maybe something happened that changed the way you see each other, and you are trying to figure out what comes next.

Relationships are complicated because they bring together two people with different histories, experiences, needs, and ways of protecting themselves.

Couples therapy can be a space to slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the conflict, and begin creating a relationship where both people feel seen, heard, and valued.

The problem is often not each other. It is the cycle you are stuck in.

Many couples come in feeling like they are constantly fighting against each other. One person feels unheard, the other feels criticized. One person reaches for connection, the other pulls away to protect themselves. Over time, both people can begin feeling lonely, frustrated, and misunderstood.

The painful part is that both people are often trying to get the same thing: to feel loved, important, safe, and connected.

“I feel like we keep having the same fight.”

You may have talked about the same issue repeatedly but feel like nothing changes. Therapy can help uncover the pattern underneath the argument.

“We love each other, but something feels missing.”

Sometimes couples are not looking to save a relationship. They are looking to reconnect, deepen understanding, and strengthen what they already have.

“We are trying to rebuild after hurt.”

Trust injuries, betrayal, and painful experiences can leave couples unsure how to move forward. Repair is possible when both partners are willing to participate.

Couples therapy is not about choosing sides.

My role is not to decide who is right or wrong, identify who is “the problem,” or become the referee in your relationship.

Instead, we work together to understand the patterns happening between you. We explore what each person is experiencing, what emotions are underneath the conflict, and how both partners can begin responding differently.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is creating a relationship where both people feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and connected.

Relationships are living gardens.

One of my favorite ways to think about relationships is as a garden.

A healthy garden does not grow because one person works endlessly while the other sits nearby watching. A thriving garden requires attention, care, patience, and effort from both people.

There will be seasons where things bloom beautifully. There will also be seasons where weeds appear, storms come through, or something needs extra attention.

The relationship itself is the garden. Both people bring their own experiences, hopes, fears, and strengths into the space. Together, we explore how to tend to that garden so it can continue growing.

Because no one wants to be the person out there exhausted, carrying all the watering cans, while their partner is sitting under an umbrella drinking lemonade. 😉

How we may work together.

My approach to couples therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping you understand the relationship patterns that have developed over time.

I integrate several approaches depending on what fits your relationship and goals, including:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Exploring the emotional needs underneath conflict and helping couples rebuild safety, connection, and responsiveness.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Understanding how past experiences influence the ways we connect, communicate, and respond to one another.

Gottman-Informed Couples Work

Building skills around communication, friendship, conflict management, and creating a stronger foundation together.

Solution Focused Narrative Therapy

Exploring the story your relationship has developed while identifying strengths and creating the next chapter intentionally.

Couples therapy may be a good fit if you are…

A couple who loves each other but feels stuck in painful patterns.

Partners wanting to rebuild trust after hurt or betrayal.

Couples navigating major life transitions, parenting, illness, moves, or changing seasons.

Two people who want to understand each other more deeply and create a stronger relationship.

Your relationship story is still being written.

Every relationship has chapters that feel easy and chapters that feel challenging. Therapy can help you understand where you have been, reconnect in the present, and intentionally create what comes next.

If you feel like my approach may be a good fit for your relationship, I would love to connect.
